What Support Looks Like:

Prenatal Appointments:

We’ll meet during pregnancy to prepare for your birth in a way that feels personal and intentional. We’ll talk through your preferences, answer questions, and help you feel confident going into labor.

We’ll also spend time practicing positions for labor, counter pressure, and coping techniques so you and your partner feel prepared when the time comes.

Birth Support:

I’m on call for you leading up to labor, and once labor begins, I stay by your side the entire time offering hands-on through comfort measures like counter pressure, encouragement, and guidance through each stage.

I also support your partner so they feel confident in how to help, and I remain with you after birth until the baby is feeding and you’re both doing well.

Postpartum Appointment:

After the baby arrives, I offer an  in-home visit to check in on your recovery, support feeding, process your birth experience, and help you feel cared for in those early days.

Birth Doula Support

Birth is a significant and personal experience that deserves intention and the right kind of support.

I support mothers in St. George, Utah and throughout Southern Utah with steady and personalized birth doula support during pregnancy and labor so you feel prepared and confident going into birth.

What Is a Doula?

A birth doula is a trained professional who provides continuous emotional, physical, and informational support during pregnancy, labor, and birth. Unlike medical providers whose focus is clinical care, my role is centered on supporting you and your overall birth experience.

From comfort measures and encouragement to helping you understand options and advocate for your preferences, birth doula support helps you feel informed, supported, and confident throughout labor.

What a Doula Is Not…

A doula is not a medical provider and does not perform clinical tasks or make medical decisions. That role belongs to your doctor, midwife, or nurse.

My role is to provide non-medical support through hands-on labor techniques, education, reassurance, and continuous support throughout labor and birth.

My Approach to Birth Support

I believe birth is deeply personal and looks different for every mother.

Rather than fitting you into a specific approach, I meet you where you are and provide support that adapts to your labor and goals.

I focus on creating a calm environment while helping you feel informed without overwhelm. When questions or decisions come up, I’m there to help you process your options with clarity and confidence.

I also support your partner so they feel prepared and involved throughout the experience.

Who this is for

Birth doula support may be a good fit if you:

  • Want a more empowering and intentional birth experience

  • Feel unsure about what to expect

  • Want your partner to feel more involved

  • Are open to guidance but still want to make your own decisions

  • Want both you and your partner to feel more prepared going into birth

Why doula support makes a difference

Research shows that continuous labor support can positively impact on both the birth experiences and outcomes.

Studies have found that having a doula is associated with:

  • Lower rates of cesarean birth

  • Shorter labors and fewer interventions

  • Lower rates of preterm birth

  • Increased likelihood of vaginal birth

  • More positive birth experiences overall

Continuous, one-to-one support focused entirely on you has been shown to improve both birth experiences and how mothers feel afterward.

If this feels like what you’re looking for, I’d love to connect. Schedule a free consultation and we can talk through your preferences and what kind of support feels right for you.

FAQs

Will a doula replace my partner?

Not at all. I support your partner so they feel more confident and involved. Instead of replacing them, I help both of you work together.

What does a doula actually do during labor?

I provide continuous support, including hands-on comfort measures, guidance through different stages of labor, and a steady presence so you feel supported and empowered.

What does birth doula support include?

Birth doula support includes prenatal visits to prepare for labor and answer questions, continuous support during labor through comfort measures and encouragement, partner support, and postpartum follow-up after birth.

When should I book a doula?

Most families reach out during the second trimester, but you can book at any point in your pregnancy if availability allows.

Can a doula help if I want an epidural?

Yes. A doula provides continuous support throughout labor helping with positioning, comfort, and creating a calm environment, regardless of how you choose to manage pain.

What is the difference between a doula and a midwife?

A midwife provides medical care during pregnancy and birth. A doula provides emotional, physical, and educational support.

I do not perform medical care or make medical decisions, my role is to support the mother and family so you feel informed, confident, and cared for throughout your experience.

Dani Denos RN and birth and postpartum doula, supporting mothers and families in St. George, Utah.

About Me

Hi I’m Dani Denos! I am so glad you are here.

I am a mom to two little boys, and like many women, my own birth experiences shaped the way I support mothers today.

My first birth was a traditional hospital experience with an epidural. While everything was medically fine, I left feeling disconnected and wishing I had felt more present and involved in the process.

When I became pregnant with my second, I knew I wanted something different. We chose a midwife and a doula, and together we created a peaceful and empowering home birth. That experience showed me that birth can be deeply personal, transformative, and healing.

That difference is what led me here.

As a registered nurse and doula, I bring both clinical understanding and compassionate support into the birth space.

I believe every mother deserves to feel respected, informed, and confident in her birth experience.

Client Experiences

Kind words from mothers I’ve had the honor of supporting through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum across Southern Utah.

I was so worried about giving birth without an epidural and carried a lot of fear around birth, but Dani helped me every step of the way and gave me the courage and support I needed.

Despite a long and difficult labor, she stayed by my side and helped me feel calm and capable. I truly loved my birth experience because of her.

I knew I wanted an unmedicated birth for my third, but I didn’t want to do it alone. Dani brought a level of knowledge and support I didn’t even know I needed and shared resources that were eye opening, even as a mom who had already done this.

She was a steady hand through every contraction and empowered my husband to be the partner I needed. I would choose Dani over and over again.

Dani is amazing!!! There is truly no way I would've been able to go through my birth without her. Not only was she the best support during my very fast labor, she also checked in throughout my pregnancy and was always more than willing to answer my questions. I can not recommend her enough!!!
